Kadampa Buddhism is finding a home in Virginia. Classes have been held in the Richmond area for many years. There is a close connection to the other local centers in Washington DC, Baltimore, Roanoke and Virginia Beach.
Kelsang Kalden is the Resident Teacher at Keajra Kadampa Buddhist Center and leads the workshops in Richmond. She is an ordained Buddhist nun and has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance and direction of renowned teacher Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition, for many years. She is known for her loving kindness, sincere dedication to serving others, and for her boundless energy and good humor.
